What's the deal with my profile?
We ask a few fun questions for the user profile to give people reading the posts a sense of who is responding. Answering the questions, as well as posting a photo, is optional. Answer all, none, or some. And you can update your profile at any time.
Once logged in, you can access your profile by clicking the View Your Profile button above right. To edit it, click Edit Your Profile.
Another way to see profiles (yours as well as others) is to simply click on a user name near a post or topic.

A hint: try to keep titles short but descriptive so people will want to respond.

At the bottom of the every discussion there is a box for adding your reply. If you are logged in you can simply type your reply and hit the Submit button. Or you can click the red button near the original post that says Add a Reply and you will be sent right to the reply box. Once you have typed your response, click the Submit Your Reply button. Be aware that once you have posted, you cannot edit your reply.
Can I add a photo to my reply?
Yes, you can add a single image that will appear below your reply. To do so, look below the reply box where it says Attach an image. Click Choose file and then double click the image you want to include. A thumbnail will appear on your post; folks can click on it to enlarge the image. Forum Guidelines
We hope you join, stay, and contribute regularly. However, because some people can be rude (not you), we have created some commonsense guidelines. Please familiarize yourself with the following before posting. We rely on your help to enforce these guidelines. If you see something on the site that’s questionable, please click the yellow triangle, which will alter the moderator , or e-mail us at info@quadratum.com.
1. Keep the topic (mainly) to things Italian.
We know you are well rounded, but this forum is a place to explore your passion Italian food cooking, and culture.
2. Post with respect.
The anonymity of forums can make otherwise nice people say some not so nice things. You’ve heard this before, but if you wouldn’t say what you are posting to someone in person, please keep it to yourself. We are certainly interested in a spirited debate over, say, where to get the best slice of pizza in New York, and disagreement breeds a wide range of opinions, which we love. But please keep it well mannered. Bear in mind that sarcasm can be pretty tough to “get” online. Swearing can add emphasis, and we are not your mother, but we would rather it not be used in anger or directed at a specific person.
We do reserve the right to remove a post or suspend an account by our sole judgment. And just so you know, here are some of the offenses that can get your comment pulled and possibly you kicked out (not that you would do any of these):
-
Personal attacks or attacks on a group’s race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual preference, political or religious beliefs, or physical characteristics. Please remain civil; if it gets nasty, it gets cut.
-
Vulgar or obscene language. There are plenty of places on the internet for this; this is not one of them. We reserve the right to remove any posts we feel are obscene or vulgar.
3. No advertising in the posts.
Commercial postings (including links by advertisers to business e-mails and commercial sites) aren't allowed here and will be removed. Posting advertisements will result in the suspension of your account. If you see advertising, you may notify the moderators by e-mailing info@quadratum.com.
4. Do not post copyrighted material.
You may certainly link to articles you love, but please don't copy and paste its content in the forums. Please include a small explanation to make it easy for fellow members to decide whether or not the content is of interest to them.
5. Special considerations for bloggers.
Welcome! Glad you are here. But please join the conversation and don’t just use this space to advertise your site. If you ask intelligent questions, offer helpful tips, or add insightful comments, people will naturally want to see more of you. When you have relevant information on your blog that you want to share, please copy and paste your information to the forum so everyone can easily see it. If we see a pattern of behavior that suggests you are only posting to get folks to your site, you will be warned. If it’s unequivocal spam, we will revoke your right to post.
6. Special considerations for restaurant posts.
If you're posting about a restaurant and you have a relationship with the restaurant that goes beyond customer (chef, friend, investor) please let us know in your post.
7. Moderators have the final word.
If you feel that a thread, comment, or user was removed in error, e-mail info@quadratum.com. Please note that moderators cannot respond to every complaint but will try to get back to you in a timely manner.
